There's a new leader on the list of the most-researched crossovers and SUVs in America for the month of October 2025.
Despite being the best-selling crossover SUV in America, the Toyota RAV4 dropped into second place on the latest list of the most-researched SUVs in America. The Hyundai Palisade displaced the RAV4; it was in second place the previous month, meaning the two swapped places in October. The Chevrolet Equinox landed in third (same as the previous month), which means the top three finishers on the list were all car-based crossovers.
And then we get to the Jeep Wrangler, which is about as far from car-based as you can get. Jeep's long-serving off-road SUV landed in the fourth spot in October, up four spots from the prior month. The Lexus RX 350 dropped one spot and rounded out the top five.
There are several surprises on this month's list of the most-researched crossover SUVs in America, which was compiled using data provided exclusively to AutoGuide via AutoFinder.com - an automotive marketplace featuring over 3 million new and used vehicle listings, connecting consumers with top dealerships nationwide to easily find and secure the best deal on a car, truck, or SUV.
Most notable among them is the absence of the Toyota 4Runner in the top 20 in October, after landing in 10th place the month before. The Hyundai Santa Fe, Lexus NX and Buick Envista are new to the list this month. In addition to the aforementioned 4Runner, the subcompact Subaru Crosstrek and compact Mazda CX-5 also fell out of the top 20.
The bulk of this latest list of the most-researched utility vehicles in America is, not surprisingly, made up of unibody crossovers as opposed to traditional body-on-frame SUVs. Considering how infrequently most SUV owners actually go deep into off-road territory, that makes plenty of sense. Also notable is the lack of any electric vehicles, especially the Tesla Model Y, which fits into the crossover category and has long been the best-selling EV globally.
